Established in May 2022 by Dr. Carlos Fernando Pozzi-Montero and Dr. Roberto Gouthman, Sunrise Counseling Service aims to make a difference in the Clermont, Florida community by providing superb mental health counseling services.

We believe in increasing the access of premium mental health services in our community by attracting the highest trained providers and decreasing the stigma associated with mental health services.

Dr. Carlos Fernando Pozzi-Montero of Sunrise Counseling Service's Headshot

Dr. Carlos Fernando Pozzi-Montero, Psy.D., Ph.D., BCBA

Licensed Psychologist | Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Dr. Pozzi-Montero is a licensed psychologist in Florida and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. His training and practice has focused on psychological services to children, adolescents, and families. He has served in the mental health field as a psychologist, therapist, supervisor, and faculty for 35 years, the last 26 of those years as a licensed psychologist. He has intensive training in Trauma-Focus Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) , Apply Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Dialectical behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Pozzi-Montero is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Dr. Roberto Gouthman, D.O.

Licensed Psychiatrist

Dr. Gouthman received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton Florida. He completed his psychiatry residency at Rocky Vista University/HealthONE at the Medical Center of Aurora in Denver Colorado where he received psychoanalytic and integrative psychiatric instruction in addition to completing his general psychiatry training. Dr. Gouthman has experience in multiple psychiatric settings and has treated a variety of psychiatric illnesses including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, ADHD, and adjustment disorders.

Dr. Gouthman believes in a holistic approach where conversation and honest engagement are the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. His goal is to tailor treatment in a way that gets to the root of the problem. Dr. Gouthman is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Dr. Scarbriel, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Scarbriel earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami in 2015. She completed her internship at Miami-Dade County’s Community Action and Human Services Department, providing individual and group therapy to adults placed in residential treatment for substance abuse.

Dr. Scarbriel’s psychotherapy approach is integrative, incorporating elements of person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, solution-focused, emotion-focused, somatic and schema therapies. Her training experience includes an emphasis on trauma-informed, multicultural, and community-based interventions for adolescents and adults.

Sandra Torres, LMHC

Licensed Psychotherapist

Sandra provides a supportive and confidential environment where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. Offering both online and in-person sessions, Sandra takes a warm and collaborative approach, respecting each individual’s unique story and strengths.

They primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), evidence-based methods that help clients build self-awareness, regulate emotions, and create meaningful change. Believing therapy is not one-size-fits-all, Sandra integrates additional approaches as needed to meet each client’s goals.

Through this flexible and compassionate approach, Sandra helps clients uncover patterns, develop resilience, and work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Jackelyn Bhattarai, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Family Medicine and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Jackelyn Bhattarai, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a dual-certified Family Medicine and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate mental health care. At Sunrise Counseling Services, she offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual psychotherapy tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Jackelyn’s diverse professional background as a teacher, school nurse, and Neonatal ICU nurse gives her a unique perspective on the mental health needs of children, families, and adults. Additionally, her experience in adult functional medicine informs her holistic approach to psychiatric care, integrating both physical and mental well-being.

Known for her patience, warmth, and clear communication, Jackelyn strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel comfortable and heard. She takes the time to understand each individual’s personal history, current circumstances, and goals for treatment. Recognizing that concerns about medications are common, she uses a flexible and integrative approach to ensure patients feel confident in their care plan.

Jackelyn is committed to building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and supporting them on their journey toward improved mental health and overall well-being.
