Psychological Evaluations

Psychological evaluations help assess behaviors, cognitive abilities, and emotional functioning using a variety of standardized tools. These may include written, visual, and verbal assessments, allowing us to build a well-rounded understanding of how an individual thinks, feels, and functions.

These evaluations can be helpful in identifying challenges, clarifying diagnoses, and guiding treatment or support plans.

Best for: gaining insight into cognitive functioning, emotional health, and behavioral patterns

Investment: $1500-$2000

Autism Evaluations

We offer both screenings and comprehensive autism evaluations in a supportive and structured process. This multi-step approach is designed to gather a full picture of the child’s development and behavior across different environments.

The process begins with a screening questionnaire and includes collaboration with caregivers, pediatricians, schools, and/or daycare providers. From there, a full evaluation is completed, resulting in a detailed report with findings, diagnosis (if applicable), and personalized treatment recommendations.

Best for: identifying signs of autism and gaining clear, actionable next steps for support

Procedure for Psychological or Neuropsychological Evaluation

A psychological evaluation is a structured process used by a licensed psychologist or qualified mental health professional to assess an individual’s cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and psychological functioning. Psychological evaluations are useful in answering questions related to mood and emotional functioning, cognitive status, adaptive functioning, behavior, and interpersonal style.

A neuropsychological evaluation is a specialized, in-depth assessment that measures how well a person’s brain is functioning in areas such as memory, attention, language, problem-solving, executive functioning, and other cognitive abilities. It is typically used to better understand the relationship between brain functioning and behavior. A neuropsychological evaluation may be indicated when there are concerns related to cognitive functioning, neurological disorders, attention and executive functioning, memory difficulties, impairment resulting from brain injury, stroke, seizures, or cognitive/behavioral changes related to substance exposure.

The purpose of the evaluation is for the psychologist to integrate multiple sources of information to answer the questions posed by the referral. To accomplish this, the psychologist gathers information from all relevant and available sources, integrates the information to develop an informed clinical understanding of the areas assessed, develops relevant, effective, and practical recommendations, and communicates the findings and recommendations to the appropriate parties.

The evaluation process typically includes the following steps:

Step One: Preparation

Collection of relevant information and interviews with stakeholders.

Step Two: Test Administration

Completion of assessment measures, which may take several hours and may occur over one or multiple sessions.

Step Three: Interpretation & Report Writing

Review of information, scoring and interpretation of assessment tools, and preparation of the written report.

Step Four: Feedback

Meeting with stakeholders to review the report, findings, and recommendations.

The evaluation is an in-depth and complex process that requires time. Our goal is to complete the full process in approximately eight weeks. However, the timeline may be longer depending on the complexity of the evaluation and the availability of necessary information.
